Our long-term goals as a farm are discussing agricultural issues in our County, Food Policy, Food Politics, and Rural Land use. We are committed to helping small family farmers find economic stability. We believe in a level playing field and permit fees that are within the scale and scope of small-family farmers. The ability to meet county compliance without constraints and the preservation of agriculturally zoned land. We have a lot on our plate, but we are still here planting flowers, managing animals, and sharing our farm with the community

A FAMILY-OWNED FARM IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Thank you for visiting Soul Food Farm. We are a family farm located in Solano County, California. We bought the property over twenty years ago and have been on a learning journey ever since. In our first decade of farming, we built a pastured chicken farm. We sold pastured eggs and chicken meat to restaurants and shops throughout the Bay Area. In 2012 we decided to travel a new road. We closed the chicken business and redesigned the farm to add diversity in plants, animals, and philosophy.

Today the farm is engaged in several businesses that all complement each other and keep us extremely busy. Soul Food Farm has extensive lavender fields for a joint partnership with Morningsun Herb Farm. We named the lavender business Hierbas y Flores. Soul Food Farm also produces olive oil, cut flowers, sheep yarn, and specialty vegetables, and hosts workshops and lectures.

As in life, a farm evolves and becomes more of what it’s meant to be over time. And we’ve learned over the last two decades that the earth has more to teach us. Immersing ourselves in regenerative agriculture, adding more diversity to increase soil life and habitat for pollinators, and meeting the modern age with technology to help us market our goods.

We look forward to sharing the farm and our story of how we became land stewards. We have several events during the year and a farm store that is open from March through November. Please come visit us.
